Are most guys like this?

OK, I love my husband very much. His confidence is one of the things that I fell in love with first....HOWEVER sometimes (a lot acutally) he claims to know about things that he knows nothing about. Example: he and I have been together for 17 years. Never once have we ever camped. A friend of his invited him to go camping last wknd on a VERY rustic camping/fishing trip. My husband kept saying, "oh yea, I've camped lots of times, I know all about it, I was born to be in the woods" stuff like that. This is just one example of his know it all attitude, but I was wondering if most guys are like this, or if most guys who aren't campers and know nothing about it would just fess up and admit it. What do you do guys?
