Soviet Union Once More?

I think Putin is trying to return Russia to the military strength it enjoyed during the Cold War. I don't think he will return to communism, and I don't think he will be able to incorporate the former states back into a new Soviet Union (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, etc....)
